Trannel speaks the translation into a virtual microphone. For this you need the free VB-Audio Virtual Cable (vb-audio.com/Cable). Trannel switches the microphone itself while “Voice for Discord” is on and switches it back when you turn it off – your Windows and Discord settings stay unchanged otherwise.
The first time, the app downloads a natural voice for the selected language, about 110–380 MB depending on the language. After that it runs offline. For languages without a natural voice (Turkish, Korean, Arabic) Trannel uses the Windows voices.
Speech recognition and translation are produced by AI models and are usually very easy to understand, but they can contain mistakes. The app is not intended for medical, legal or safety-critical conversations.

Windows SmartScreen doesn't know new programs without a paid code-signing certificate yet. Click “More info → Run anyway” to install. The SHA-256 checksum in the download section confirms the file is unmodified.
Yes, in games running in “borderless window” mode. In exclusive full screen, Windows can't put other programs' windows on top.
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), 8 GB RAM and a recent 4-core processor. With a graphics card it gets even faster and more accurate: NVIDIA (GeForce/RTX), AMD Radeon RX or Intel Arc. The setup detects your card and offers the right acceleration.
